NZCE and Mercury announce long-term renewable energy partnership
NZ Clean Energy (NZCE), a Foresight portfolio company, and Mercury have announced a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for NZCE’s 118 MW Masterton Solar and Energy Storage Project in the Wairarapa.
The project is expected to generate approximately 190 GWh of renewable electricity annually, supporting New Zealand’s growing energy needs and strengthening energy resilience in the lower North Island.
The partnership marks an important milestone for the Masterton project as it progresses towards construction, while supporting continued farming activities and delivering economic benefits to the Wairarapa region.

NZ Clean Energy has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Fonterra for electricity generated by the Darfield solar and energy storage farm under a 10–15 year agreement.
This partnership marks a major milestone for the project — and an important step for Fonterra, with this becoming the co-operative’s largest Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with an independent operator.
